So I had an SL5000 and the Seat Mechanism broke after 3 years and the warranty was for 2 years. The mechanism did not actually break but a weld broke, which made the chair unusable. The SL5000 is a great chair, but runs out of stock a lot. Wen on the Vertagear site, they said this was a new option and a step up. Well I would not necessarily say a step up.Customer service told me many things between the SL5000 & the PL6000 are interchangeable. The seat mechanism on both can be switched, and other than chair/seat design, they are same specs. The Seat Mechanism on the PL6000 is new, stronger 1 piece system, no welds, that is why it can hold up to 360 lbs. The SL5000 is rated at 260 lbs, I am 210 and the welds still broke. So the Seat Mechanism is stronger, but it comes at a price. The PL6000 sits several inches higher than the SL5000. This specs say good for people 5'9" - 6'8". I would suggest you do not buy this unless you are over 6 ft tall. The PL6000 does not fit under my desk, when the SL5000 did. I do not feel I can sit right in the PL6000, My legs barely fit under my desk, but to have my feet on the ground, my legs are at an downward angle, not at a good sitting angle, which is giving me butt cramps. Placing a shoebox under my feet fixes this, but then my legs do not go under my desk.Other bad features. The seat back of the PL6000 is same specs as the SL5000, but to create a different design they removed the holes at the top of the seat to fit the lumbar support through. So now the PL6000 has no place to anchor the support and constantly falls. The directions to place it on the chair has the straps gone and just says to add the support, but not where. Where the pics show they have them sitting on the side of the chair, they do not stay. If you touch the support or move it at all, they fall down. The Only way I found to fix this is to feed the lumbar support straps through the straps of the head rest. Not IdealThe seat itself is not better. They speak of more support, but very stiff and not comfortable. The PL6000 seat is the same size as the SL5000, to make it seam wider, the SL5000 has sides to hold you in place like a racing seat, the PL6000 got rid of the hard sides and they just taper up at an angle, but not really wider. I am just guessing this makes it more comfortable for a wider person, which I am not. With that being said customer support said I can order a new mechanism for my SL5000 so I can fix it. I am trying to go through that. I would say if you are not over 6 ft tall, not over 250 lbs and not wide, definitely stick to the SL5000
